Tanya is a retired nurse who is serving her first term on the MMA board. She retired in 2007 from a long career in multiple aspects of healthcare delivery and management ranging from in-hospital nursing, hospice care, insurance administration to liaison nurse. Since that time she has been involved in volunteering, first in Massachusetts General Hospital’s (MGH) Pet Therapy Program for seven years with her dog Duffy and now as a member of the MGH Ladies Visiting Committee.
She has a son with disabilities who lived at home until the age of 23 and now lives in a group home in Acton. Her son attends the MMA Day Habilitation Program. All of this leads to natural interest in the programs and services provided by Minute Man Arc and how to optimize these services to the surrounding community. Tanya lives in Westford with her husband, Jack, and their miniature schnauzer. Her two daughters and their families (including five grandchildren) live close by.
